Attorney Scott A. Schimanski

Attorney Scott A. SchimanskiAttorney Scott A. Schimanski has been addressing tax issues with taxpayers since 1991 when he began his professional tax career as a Revenue Officer with the Internal Revenue Service. As a Revenue Officer, Mr. Schimanski worked on the hardest edge of tax enforcement; assessment, collection and enforcement of basic tax compliance regulation. During his four year tenure, as a Revenue Officer, Mr. Schimanski’s tax enforcement work extended through participating in examinations and criminal investigations.

Mr. Schimanski left the IRS in 1994 to attend Chicago-Kent College of Law where he completed his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1997, and passed the State of Illinois Bar Examination that same year and receiving an advanced degree in tax law (LLM in Taxation) in 1999. Applying his experience and education, Mr. Schimanski practice includes providing assistance to individuals and business entities in tax matters before Federal, State and Local Governments.

Since 1997, Mr. Schimanski has also provided counsel to plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of commercial and employment litigation matters. Mr. Schimanski has provided representation to clients involved in litigation in Federal and State Courts, including representing clients to address litigation issues before Federal, State and Local Administrative Bodies and Arbitration Panels. Mr. Schimanski’s litigation experience includes providing representation to clients in the Federal and Illinois Appellate Courts. Mr. Schimanski joined The Law Offices of Thomas W. Lynch & Associates, P.C. in 2006.
