Attorney Thomas W. Lynch's
background as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service (seven years)
and as an Assistant Illinois Attorney General, in the Civil Tax and
Charitable Corporations Divisions (five years), provides his clients
with a wealth of experience for dealing with Financial, Tax, and Real
Estate issues. After graduating from DePaul University in 1977, and
passing the Illinois Certified Public Accountants examination, Mr.
Lynch gained experience in financial matters working in the Public
Accounting Profession.
In 1979 Mr. Lynch began work as an Internal Revenue
Agent, auditing and otherwise working in enforcing the Federal Tax
Law for the Internal Revenue Service. Eventually Mr. Lynch's work
for the Internal Revenue Service lead him to work in the Internal
Revenue Service Special Enforcement Division investigating unusual
cases and developing and assisting in prosecuting Federal Criminal
Cases in cooperation with the U.S. Attorney Generals Office.
While working with the Internal Revenue Service,
Mr. Lynch attended the John Marshall Law School in the evenings,
graduating in June of 1986 and passing the Illinois Bar Examination
that same year. After leaving the Internal Revenue Service in 1987,
Mr. Lynch worked as an Attorney with the State of Illinois Attorney
General's Office from 1987 through 1992. At the Illinois Attorney
General's Office Mr. Lynch worked in the Civil Tax and Revenue Division, gaining
valuable experience in State Tax Matters.
Since 1992, Mr. Lynch has worked in his present
law firm, concentrating his practice in Bankruptcy, Federal and
State Tax Problems, Real Estate and Business Issues.

Attorney Robert W. Maucker comes
to the practice of law with a fund of practical experience gained
over a 30-year period in the Construction and Architectural Woodworking
industries. Mr. Maucker litigates claims for Plaintiffs and Defendants
including Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice, Federal Civil
Rights Litigation and other worthwhile cases.
Mr. Maucker graduated Macalester College, St. Paul,
Minnesota, with a degree in International Relations and a GPA of
4.0. Having chosen not to enter into government service, Mr. Maucker
instead entered into business in Berkley, California in 1970 in
the Woodworking and Cabinetmaking industry.
Returning to his native Midwest, Mr. Maucker founded
and managed for seven years the design and production end of the
M.J. Fisher & Co. subsidiary, SCI Institutional Furniture.
In 1992, Mr. Maucker acted on a long held desire
to enter into the practice of law. Mr. Maucker made use of his strong
academic background and enrolled in the DePaul University College
of Law from which he graduated in 1997. Mr. Maucker was sworn and
licensed in 1998, and began his practice thereafter.
In the year 2000, Mr. Maucker accepted the number
two spot in the firm of Zane D. Smith and Associates, a downtown
Chicago firm specializing in Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice
claims. From that point on Mr. Maucker was steeped in performing
"hands on" litigation work, representing clients in court
who required someone who could get the necessary result.
After three years of working with Mr. Zane in July
of 2003, Mr. Maucker took his practice solo until having met Mr.
Lynch as an adversary, he became associated with that firm as a
litigation attorney, serving as As Counsel capacity.
Mr. Maucker is currently engaged in the firm's litigation
practice, representing clients in both State and Federal Courts.
He also handles matters in Probate and assists clients in the preparation
of Wills and Trusts.
Attorney Martin Doorhy's professional
background includes serving as a government prosecutor, (U.S. Air
Force Judge Advocate General), as well as serving in various positions
in the academic realm, which includes his service as a former Professor
of Constitutional Law at DePaul University. Mr. Doorhy's extensive
professional and academic background provides his clients with a
formidable advocate for dealing with Criminal Problems.
After attending
St. Rita High School on a four-year academic scholarship, Martin
Doorhy enrolled at DePaul University with advanced standing based
on his exceptional test scores. Martin completed his Bachelor's degree in three
years at DePaul University, and graduated summa cum laude. He became
one of the youngest people ever to teach in the History Department at DePaul University when he was selected at the age of twenty-one,
from among thirty-six applicants, as the Teaching Assistant in the
History Department. He obtained his M.A. with distinction with
a GPA of 4.0.
As a student at Loyola University
School of Law in Chicago, Martin was selected as a member of the
school's National Mock Trial Team, which finished fourth in national
competition in Houston, Texas. In addition, he worked as a law clerk for over a year with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office, where
he was allowed to examine witnesses during felony trials while still
a student. After he received his J.D. in 1984, Martin obtained a two-year fellowship which enabled him to engage in research and organize
a symposium concerning the Nuremberg War Crimes Trial.
Martin entered the United States Air Force in 1987. While in the USAF he graduated from the Judge Advocate Staff Officer Course
after three months as a distinguished graduate. For five years,
he served as an officer in the United States Air Force JAG Department. He prosecuted at over forty courts-martial and discharge
board cases involving offences that ranged from rape and child molestation
to armed robbery in his capacity as Chief of Military Justice at two separate bases. Based upon his extensive experience as a
prosecutor, Martin taught criminal law and procedure to members
of the USAF Security Police, the Office of Special Investigations
and unit commanders.
In 1992, Martin returned to the Chicago area where
he became a member of The Law Offices of Thomas W. Lynch in Hickory
Hills. His practice is limited to criminal defense work, which includes major traffic cases, throughout northern Illinois. He has participated
in dozens of trials.
As an adjunct professor at DePaul University, Martin taught courses in Constitutional Law and The History
of the U.S. Supreme Court for seven years.
Attorney Scott A. Schimanski has
been addressing tax issues with taxpayers since 1991 when he began
his professional tax career as a Revenue Officer with the Internal
Revenue Service. As a Revenue Officer, Mr. Schimanski worked on
the hardest edge of tax enforcement; assessment, collection and
enforcement of basic tax compliance regulation. During his four
year tenure, as a Revenue Officer, Mr. Schimanski's tax enforcement work extended through participating in examinations and criminal investigations.
Mr. Schimanski left the IRS in 1994 to attend Chicago-Kent
College of Law where he completed his Juris Doctorate Degree in
1997, and passed the State of Illinois Bar Examination that same
year and receiving an advanced degree in tax law (LLM in Taxation)
in 1999. Applying his experience and education, Mr. Schimanski practice
includes providing assistance to individuals and business entities
in tax matters before Federal, State and Local Governments.
Since 1997, Mr. Schimanski has also provided counsel
to plaintiffs and defendants in a variety of commercial and employment
litigation matters. Mr. Schimanski has provided representation to
clients involved in litigation in Federal and State Courts, including
representing clients to address litigation issues before Federal,
State and Local Administrative Bodies and Arbitration Panels. Mr.
Schimanski's litigation experience includes providing representation
to clients in the Federal and Illinois Appellate Courts. Mr. Schimanski
joined The Law Offices of Thomas W. Lynch & Associates, P.C.
in 2006.
