Our Attorneys Can Help with Your Personal Bankruptcy Needs

When faced with constant calls from collection agencies, lawsuits, foreclosures, tax liens, or other issues, declaring yourself bankrupt is a viable solution that can help you and your family out of what may seem like an impossible situation.

  • Chapter 7: When you file for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, you can alleviate all of your debt with the exception of some non-dischargeable debts such as student loans. If you file for Chapter 7, you may lose your non-exempt property such as a second home or car.
  • Chapter 13: When you file for Chapter 13 bankruptcy, you will make payments to a guarantor who will handle repayments to your creditors. In many cases, your attorney can negotiate debt reduction and your creditors will be happy to offer it since, unlike if you had filed for Chapter 7, they will not have to completely write off your debt.

Our Attorneys Can Help with Your Commercial Bankruptcy Needs

If you own a business in or around Cicero, you have likely invested a lot of time, effort and personal finances into it. Nobody enjoys admitting defeat, but sometimes, a business that started out with so much potential faces overwhelming expenses that it just cannot manage. When this happens, bankruptcy is often the only solution. Our attorneys can help you file for Chapter 7 or Chapter 11 business bankruptcy.

  • Chapter 7: When a business is approved for Chapter 7 bankruptcy, the company must liquidate its property to cover as much debt as possible and the remaining expenses are written off. This type of bankruptcy permanently shuts down a business.
  • Chapter 11: If a business is facing insurmountable debt, as may happen if they have taken a huge hit because of catastrophic damage, filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy will permit them financial relief while allowing them to remain in business. The courts will determine how much of your company’s debt will need to be repaid to various creditors and will set up payment schedules to facilitate the paying off of these debts.

Cicero, IL 60804

The only incorporated town in Illinois’ Cook County, the Town of Cicero is one of the oldest municipalities in the state. Established in 1849 as a 36-mile tract of land, Cicero had a population of more than 3,000 residents by 1967. The area that comprised the Town of Cicero grew rapidly thanks in part to immigration and the many railroads that ran through the area. In 1901, the Town of Cicero broke apart into three separate municipalities: Cicero, Oak Park and Berwyn.

Today’s Cicero has a total area of 5.86 square miles. The population of this town exceeds 83,000 and includes more than 22,000 households. The town has eight distinct neighborhoods: Grant Works, Hawthorne, Warren Park, Drezel, Clyde, Morton Park, Boulevard Manor and Parkholme. The town’s Unity Junior High School was opened in 2003 and serves all middle school students in District 99, giving it the distinction of being the largest middle school in the United States.

Notable landmarks in Cicero include the neo-gothic church, St. Mary of Czestochowa which was built in the Polish cathedral style, and the Hawthorne Works Tower. This tower is all that remains of the Western Electric manufacturing plant which employed more than 40,000 people at its peak. Residents of Cicero enjoy significant seasonal changes, a crime rate that is lower than the national average and a job market that has grown 16.53% since 2000.
