The appealing aspect for most people who qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the distinct possibility they may get to keep what they own – their house, automobile, furniture among other things. They may also benefit from other debt relief and be able to get out of most types of unsecured debt, which includes credit cards, medical bills, judgments, garnishments, and some types of taxes.

Chapter 13 Individual Bankruptcy

Similar to the Chapter 7 scenario described above, most Chapter 13 bankruptcy cases for individuals usually result in that individual being able to keep their house and possessions. Chapter 13 bankruptcy ordinarily relates to people who have fallen behind in their mortgage payments.

Chapter 7 Business Bankruptcy

Sometimes Chapter 7 bankruptcy is the only solution for business-owners who face the unfortunate fact that they need to wind-up their business because of insufficient profits or to service its debts. A Business Chapter 7 enables a business owner to proceed with their life by preventing creditor harassment, lowering the possibility of future litigation and ordinarily results in a business owner being able to pursue other opportunities.

There are ways for those in business facing debtor problems to overcome them which is why we have top-level bankruptcy attorneys on our books. Chapter 11 Business Bankruptcy

A legal court can grant absolute or fractional respite from most of a company’s obligations and its’ contracts through Chapter 11 bankruptcy. This is a route many business-entrepreneurs like to consider if they want to stay in business because the court can authorize the re-organization in the company’s debt obligations to make sure that the business can pursue a brand new start.

Summit, Cook County, IL 60501

The village of Summit, Chicago, is arguably best known for being the setting of Ernest Hemingway’s 1927 short story ‘The Killers’ which went on to become a movie that launched the career of the iconic director Stanley Kubrick. However, there is much more to Summit than literary links.

Situated 12 miles southwest of Chicago’s Loop, the appropriately named village of Summit sits on the gentle rise separating Chicago River from the Des Plaines. Located along the Illinois and Michigan Canal, Summit is home to over 10,600 residents today when at the time of incorporation in 1890 the population stood at just 547, and before that the area was well-traversed by various indigenous Indian tribes for centuries.

But as a settlement Summit has always been marked by an extremely diverse ethnic mix with early Irish canal workers setting the pace followed by Germans, Poles, Croats, Slovaks, Russians, Italians and Dutch, with African Americans and Mexicans arriving by the turn of the century, and Summit’s first Greek contingent by 1910.

Apart from work provided by the canal and railroad, Summit was principally known for its cultivation of vegetable produce that sold well in Chicago city. In 1907 Summit was home to the world’s biggest corn-milling plant, and between 1916 and 1922 the Elgin Motor Car Company was producing 8,000 automobiles.
