Attorney Michael Kelleher

Attorney Michael P. Kelleher grew up in the Dolton-Riverdale neighborhoods on the far south side of Chicago, and the western suburbs of Chicago.  In 1983 he graduated from Illinois Benedictine College in Lisle, Illinois with a B.A., cum laude.  He attended the DePaul College of Law in Chicago and was admitted in 1988 to the Illinois State Bar and the Federal Bar of the Northern District of Illinois. 

Early in his career he concentrated on representing lending institutions in state and federal bankruptcy court in secured creditor litigation.   He has also had many years of experience doing collection litigation for small businesses in state court.  He represented them from complaint drafting through post judgment supplemental proceeding.  

Mr. Kelleher has also had thirteen years of experience counseling and representing individuals having financial difficulties in consumer bankruptcy cases, Chapter 7 and Chapter 13.  He has practiced in this area continuously since 2007.  He has also represented Chapter 7 bankruptcy trustees in various collection matters.

He has also represented clients in over three hundred residential real estate closings from contract formation to resolving post closing issues.   He has also represented homewners in forcible detainer actions and foreclosures in state court.  

Mr. Kelleher is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association.
