The Board of New York City Opera filed for bankruptcy protection last October and canceled its season. However, this fact did not deter the dedicated performers from celebrating the opera’s 70th anniversary. The union that represents the company’s talented musicians and singers is producing a special anniversary event to be held on February 21 at New York’s City Center. Even a Chapter 11 bankruptcy will not keep this show from going on.
