The Village Board of Fox Lake approved the village’s agreement with the Comptroller’s Office to join the state’s local debt recovery program. The program allows local authorities to participate in the state’s program to collect debts from taxpayers’ state income tax refunds.  The village has had a problem with some residents not paying what they owe to the village; therefore, the board decided to take advantage of the state’s program to collect unpaid bills from state tax refunds.
