Homeowners are paid back for property taxes

In a nice twist, homeowners in Orland Park will be able to receive a portion of their property taxes back that they paid during 2011.  This is because the village board approved a rebate program worth $2.5 million in August.  Rather than paying additional taxes as many homeowners do in other villages, Orland Park homeowners will be able to recoup some of the taxes they paid due to the surplus.

Applications for the tax rebate program will be accepted beginning October 29. For more information you can read “Orland Park tax rebate applications available Oct. 29
