One potential problem the article describes is if a driver receives an incriminating text while a police officer is viewing their digital license on the phone. To prevent such violations, the app’s developers say the license will likely be scanned by police officers so it never leaves the driver’s hands. They are also working to suppress notifications coming through while the app is open.
