Nursing homes file bankruptcy to deal with union workers

Earlier this month, HealthBridge Management’s application to stay a federal court order reinstating striking union workers was denied by the U.S. Supreme Court.  Five of the nursing homes managed by HealthBridge filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the bankruptcy code stating they cannot continue to operate and will be forced to close, relocate the patients and fire employees if they are not allowed to impose temporary terms on employees.  The terms would save over $1 million per month for the nursing homes.
