Getting a loan while you are in Chapter 13 bankruptcy

Some people want to begin rebuilding their credit as soon as their bankruptcy case is filed by getting a loan and paying it back. For those filing Chapter 7, they do not need to wait as long as those cases are much shorter than a Chapter 13. During a Chapter 13 case, debtors are not supposed to incur any new debt because their disposable income is designed to pay the creditors that they had when they filed their case. There are instances when debtors may receive court approval to incur debt during the case; however, they must have court approval first.
